Volleyball: Oles win, Raiders win and lose; Knights lose for only the second time.

St. Olaf VB Team The Carleton Knight volleyball team lost for only the second time all year, dropping three straight to Bethel...

The two areas that caused the Knights the biggest problems were passing and the service game. Carleton had nine service errors and no aces, while Bethel accumulated 11 aces and only two errors. That 18-point swing encompassed nearly the entire scoring difference on the night.

The Oles, on the other hand, broke a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Augsburg...

Jane Meyer and Kim Smisek had 17 kills apiece to lead the St. Olaf volleyball team to a five-game (30-15, 30-27, 20-30, 30-26, 15-7) win over Augsburg College on Wednesday night.

The Raiders beat Red Wing 3-0 last Thursday and lost to Prior Lake 3-1 last night.

In game three, Loesch got a kill and followed it with an ace to give Northfield a 12-5 lead. Katie McDonald's kill gave the Raiders a 20-13 lead. Red Wing got as close as 21-19, but consecutive kills from Taylor Filzen and Josie Dockstader gave Northfield the necessary breathing room. A pair of Red Wing errors let the Raiders take game three and the match.
