The Northfield Union of Youth has been holding a program called Writing Workshop for several years now. The most recent session has been led by Kristin Ginger, a Carleton student.

The youths, who have been meeting since last September, will read selected writings at the Key on Saturday, May 19, at 6 p.m. The event is free and guests of every age are welcome. Free food and drinks will be provided. Come for a night of prose, poetry, humor and insight!

A core group of youth (ages 15-21) have been meeting weekly to write about given prompts and share their creative talents with their peers. Along with the writings, they also share with each other their creations, and listen to others' thoughts.

The Key is hosting a reading such as this, on a much larger scale, and open to the public, on Saturday. "Excerpts from the Life of a Perkins Dishboy," whose title was taking from the various comedic writing adventures, will be the event during which a number of youth will perform their pieces.
