Skateboard Coalition Benefit at American Legion

"How can I help those skateboarders get their park"?

This is a question I have been getting a lot of lately. There is now a very easy answer to that question: This Sunday, the 20th of May, the American Legion has generously agreed to host an all-you-can-eat omelet breakfast for the Northfield Skateboard Coalition. Omelets and other breakfast items will be served.

The feeding frenzy begins at 8:00 a.m. and goes until 12:30 p.m. Members of the American Legion will make the breakfast and youth from the Skateboard Coalition will help with the set-up, serving, and clean-up. If you haven't already purchased a ticket for the fundraiser breakfast, find your local ticket-selling skateboarder or call Josh at 507.301.9662. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for youth 12 and under, and kids three and under are free. The American Legion is located at 1055 Highway 3 N.

Most of the money from the breakfast will directly benefit The Northfield Skateboard Coalition who are working hard to bring a youth-designed skatepark to the Northfield area. The Coalition's progress can viewed at http://www.unionofyouth.org/skateplaza/ and anyone is welcome to attend their meetings 5 p.m. Wednesdays at The Key.
