Jesse James Bike Tour - Saturday, Sept 9th - 5 routes!

Scenic views on the Jesse James Bike Tour
The countdown for the 2017 Jesse James Bike Tour has officially begun – the event will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017, rain or shine.
The Northfield Rotary Club organizes and hosts the annual tour, inviting riders of all ages and skill levels to participate in the family-friendly event. Participants under 18 can register for free with a paid adult, courtesy of Northfield McDonald’s.
New this year, a shuttle will take riders from the finish line to downtown Northfield for a post-ride celebration being co-hosted by Imminent Brewing and Armory Square. The event will feature live music and a token for a free pint of beer or craft root beer. Local craft beverages and food will also be available for purchase at the After Pedal Party.
Bike tour participants have a choice between five routes varying in difficulty and distance (100, 60, 45, 30 and 10 miles), all of which will take riders through local, scenic areas including the lakes region of Rice County, the southern Minnesota towns of Northfield, Faribault, Kenyon and Wanamingo and the rolling hills of Sogn Valley and Big Woods State Park. Starting times vary, but all routes will feature refreshment and aid stations.
“We are excited to start counting down the days until the bike tour,” remarked Jean Wakely, president of Northfield Rotary Club. “The event is one of my favorite times during the community festivities because we get to see the community come together, all while experiencing the great outdoors and raising proceeds that support community projects. We’re also looking forward to celebrating the ride at our new After Pedal Party event in downtown Northfield.” Northfield Rotary Club couldn’t continue its longstanding bike tour tradition without the support of generous community sponsors.
