The Northfield Arts Guild hosts auditions for the Frederick Knott thriller, Dial M for Murder, on Sunday and Monday, November 6 and 7, at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 West Third Street, Northfield, MN.

Dial M for Murder features a small cast of characters for six adult actors.  No prior experience is needed to audition for Northfield Arts Guild Theater productions.  Those interested should attend the open audition at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater: no appointment necessary. Actors should arrive as close as possible to 5pm on Sunday or 7pm on Monday.  Those auditioning will read from the script both individually and with scene partners, no memorization required.  

Scripts are available for short-term check-out at the Northfield Arts Guild’s Center for the Arts offices, 304 Division Street, Northfield. 

Rehearsals for Dial M for Murder begin the week of January 8 with six performances over two weekends February 17 through 28.  This gripping thriller is directed by Brendon Etter.  Etter has appeared on our and other area stages many times over many seasons, including a recent outstanding performance as Frank ‘n’ Furter in our acclaimed production of The Rocky Horror Show.

All roles are available and range in age 30s on up.  Roles include:  Margot Wendice, an upper-class, British, elegant, charming and  trusting woman; Tony Wendice, Margot’s husband who is a former tennis pro, witty and brilliant; Max Halliday, Margot’s lover, an American mystery writer, caring, smart and earnest; Captain Lesgate, a hard-luck scam artist, former classmate of Tony’s who feels compromised and cornered; Inspector Hubbard, an unassuming but direct and highly-skilled detective;  Thompson (and Several Off-Stage Characters), a role open to an adult good with voices.  Complete character descriptions and more information about this upcoming audition can be found at NorthfieldArtsGuild.org/theater/auditions/
