Thanks to the 500+ private donors and the City of Northfield AND the 2,200 visitors who came to the reopening of our public library on Saturday, May 7.  Your enthusiasm, donations, tax dollars and your patience all made the library renovation possible in record time.

It was just two years ago that then City Administrator Tim Madigan suggested that the City spend $1M on necessary upgrades to the 1910 original building and the 1985 addition.  The Friends of the Library offered to match that amount.  Both partners kicked in more to make our library modern, flexible, code compliant and fun. Nine months of construction and a lot of hard work by Brennan Construction and city staff resulted in the grand opening on May 7. The library has resumed regular hours in a most amazing space!
