Put Your Story on Northfield.org!

Long-time readers of Northfield.org have no doubt noticed a significant change on our front page of late—beyond the ongoing visual and organizational changes. Scroll down and take a look at the list of recent contributors...ten different people have submitted stories this week!

I know what you're thinking: "Hey...how can I get a story posted on Northfield.org?"

Well, here's how NOT to do it. We often get submissions through our Contact Us form—everything from a quick note about an event to a full-blown press release. That email form is a great way to get a question answered, but we rarely publish anything that we receive that way.

Instead, here are your best options...

If it's an event that you want to promote, the best place to start is not at our website at all, but at Upcoming.org. We're not affiliated with that site, but we use it to populate our "Upcoming Events" listings. All you have to do to get your item listed is create an account and add your event; it will automatically appear over in the left sidebar in about an hour.

If you've got a story to tell, or an item that you feel should receive more attention than just a calendar listing, you can submit a story to be considered for publication in our main weblog. One of our editors will review the story—usually within 24 hours—and either publish it or contact you about modifying it. (For items that aren't time-sensitive, it may be a few days before you receive a response.)

To submit a story, you first need to create a user account. Then you can use the create content link to submit it.

See you on the front page!
