Chamber/Convention and Visitors Bureau Promotes Tourism with Official 2006 Northfield Visitors Guide

CVB Visitors GuidePeople who choose to live in Northfield don't often need to be told why Northfield is a great place for a getaway, family vacation or business retreat. Most folks who live in Northfield intuitively know why.

It's the multitude that lives elsewhere who should hear about Northfield's appealing characteristics from the Northfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), an arm of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and why the CVB yearly publishes the Official Northfield Visitors Guide. The guide is a colorful and tantalizing look at all the positive reasons to visit Northfield and spend some time in this 19th century river town. The 2006 guide was released earlier this year.

"Our guide is a vital marketing piece for bringing more visitors to Northfield," comments Kathy Feldbrugge, Director of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce. "Once they take a look through the guide, we know people go to our web site to find out more about visiting Northfield, or pick up the phone to start making their reservations. This is the CVB's mission and why we are different from a lot of other organizations talk about Northfield."

In addition to information about Northfield's location, history, restaurants and hotels, the guide lists and describes tours and attractions, featured events, available shopping, places to enjoy arts and culture and several types of recreation activities. There are also sections about visit planning and moving to Northfield.

Feldbrugge says, "We're very proud of the look and content of the guide. Having businesses enthusiastically want to advertise in our publication every year indicates that what we're doing is effective and good for all of Northfield."

In June 2005, The Chamber/Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a new web site,, as part of an ongoing strategic marketing initiative to enhance and coordiate several tools used in the destination tourism industry.
