Growing Up Healthyworks to improve the health of residents in Rice County by building social connectedness. Its neighborhood team in Viking Terrace is responsible for establishing neighbor-led gatherings such as the Multicultural Cooking Cluband Martes en el Parque (Tuesdays in the Park), which provide opportunities for residents of low income and minority communities to build lasting connections with one another.

Another Growing Up Healthy project, the LINK Center, whose mission is to connect Northfield community members with resources, is up and running at NCRC, and last fall it won a Community Pride Award. During the past year, Growing Up Healthy also began addressing mental health issues through leadership in the Rice County Mental Health Collective.
