Peter Mayer: 411 Concert

Location:
Northfield Arts Guild Theater

Minnesotan Peter Mayer writes songs for a small planet—songs about interconnectedness, the human journey, and about the beauty and mystery of the world. Whimsical, humorous, and profound, his music breaks the boundaries of folk music. Limited seats are still available to see Peter Mayer as part of the 411 Concert Series on Friday, May 5 at 7:30pm at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street West, Northfield.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine says, "Mayer’s songs are crafted like shaker furniture, with no place for superfluous embellishments or throwaway lines... (his) world is bright and hopeful and the transcendent nature of his lyrics…explore the mysteries of life…Mayer’s fluid, clean, and tremendously intriguing guitar playing is topped with warm, rich vocals. This is music for the soul."

Jon Manners opens this 411 Concert.  Manners performed as the opener for the very first 411 Concert in 2012 at the Northfield Arts Guild. Writing and playing music since childhood, Manners covers acoustic guitar, upright bass, saxophones, mandolin, percussion and vocals. He says his music has been described as “acoustic or electric blues-edged Roots-Rock in a modernist vein, both elegant and funky.”

Now in its 5th season, the 411 Concert Series features regional and nationally-recognized artists in the intimate venue of the Northfield Arts Guild Theater and offers a truly unique listening and viewing experience. The series is produced by Northfield Arts Guild members Ray Coudret and Dan Rustad.
