NORTHFIELD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PANEL DISCUSSION

When: Thursday, April 25th, 6:30—8:00 PM

Where: Weitz Center for Creativity, 320 Third Street South

Larson Meeting Room (Room #236)

In the wake of the recession, Northfield faces challenges not unlike those found in many other small towns. How we address these challenges, however, may be the difference between recovery and stagnation. The unique global perspective that local businesses and the colleges bring may be helpful in navigating these challenges. By working collaboratively with local businesses, the colleges, and developers, Northfield will be more successful in implementing the goals and vision of the Comprehensive Plan.

Mayor Dana Graham and the Northfield EDA invite you to join us for an engaging panel discussion with experts in the areas of economic development, housing development, and public finance. The panelists will provide input regarding the City of Northfield’s many existing assets and how they might be leveraged to foster economic development. The panel will also be addressing the following questions:

  • What is a developer / business owner looking for in a community they may locate in?
  • What can Northfield do to project an image reflective of its community goals to developers?
  • What are current barriers (perceived or real) to development in Northfield?
