The Northfield Arts Guild Theater presents a LAB Theater Series production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a rock musical about identity, survival, and validation with text by John Cameron Mitchell, music and lyrics by Stephen Trask.  Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm February 15-17 and February 22-24, 2018 at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street West, Northfield.  This show is for mature audiences.

After a botched sex change operation, young Hansel Schmidt takes his mother’s name, marries an American GI, and moves to America to escape his bleak existence in the shadow of the Berlin Wall. The following year, living as Hedwig Robinson, she watches her marriage and the Wall collapse. Living in poverty, she revisits her love for American pop, punk, and glam music, and meets a new man who she turns into a superstar. But, when that relationship sours, Hedwig takes to the stage with her band, The Angry Inch, to weigh her future, realign her past, and scream her story in ways caustic, exotic, and erotic.

Tickets for Hedwig and the Angry Inch are $15.00.  Tickets are available online at NorthfieldArtsGuild.org, by calling 507-645-8877, or at the Guild’s Center for the Arts, 304 Division Street South, Northfield.
