The Odyssey, directed by Marc Robinson, is auditioning for several adult roles of various ages and physical types. Adults aged 18-30 are especially sought for this opportunity. Many roles will be doubled; we are looking for people who are willing to explore multiple characters. This is a large cast production.

The Odyssey by Mary Zimmerman (a new adaptation of Homer’s myth). This dramatic adaptation begins with a modern young woman who is struggling to understand Robert Fitzgerald’s translation of The Odyssey. A classical muse appears, and the young woman becomes the goddess Athena–a tireless advocate for Odysseus in his struggle to get home. With her trademark irreverent and witty twist on classic works, Zimmerman brings to life the story of Odysseus’s ten-year journey, depicting his encounters with characters such as Circe, the Cyclops, Poseidon, Calypso, the Sirens, and others.

Rehearsal/performance information: Rehearsals will begin the second week of June.  Mandatory tech week dates begin on July 27.  Performance dates:   Fri-Sun, August 2-4 and 9-11.

Characters:  There are roles for all older teen/adult ages and physical types.
