A first-hand account of life by a doctor and mother during the Second Intifada ("uprising") is the next book for the Northfielders for Justice in Palestine/Israel book study group. “It’s Easier to Reach Heaven than the End of the Street: A Jerusalem Memoir,” by Dr. Emma Williams, is her story of living in Jerusalem during turmoil that arose between Israelis and Palestinians in the summer of 2000.

The group will hold its first meeting on this book at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, in the Fireside Room at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 500 Third St. W., Northfield. The group will meet the first Tuesday of every other month. Future meetings are scheduled for Dec. 4, 2018, and Feb. 5, March 4 and April 2, 2019.

Join us for the monthly meeting of Wild Ones: Northfield Prairie Partners Chapter.  Learn more about events in Northfield at https://northfield.wildones.org. Learn more about this national nonprofit organization at https://www.wildones.org/

The Fall Festival will be held at Emmaus Baptist Church at 712 Linden St N, Northfield.  Potluck dinner starts at 6 PM with silent auction from 6-8:30 PM.  Annual Meeting and election of officers for 2019 convenes at 6:30 PM.

At 7 PM, Scott King will present a program on Rusty Patched Bumblebees.  These native bees are very uncommon, but a few have recently been seen in Northfield, including at the home of Arlene Kjar.

Please bring an item to share for the potluck, an item for the silent auction, and be ready to bid on the items.  This is an important fundraiser for the chapter and a great time to relax and have fun.
