Union Pacific Railroad's "Challenger" No. 3985, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will be in Northfield at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 26. The locomotive is on a five-state, 1,750-mile tour from Cheyenne, WY to St. Paul, MN to celebrate railroad heritage. The train will be in town for just a half-hour whistle stop at Sechler Park.
