Watercolor Artist Kathy Miller Returns to Riverwalk

Award winning watercolor artist Kathy Miller returns to Riverwalk Market Fair for three Saturdays, September 13, 20, and 27.  One of Riverwalk Market Fair’s most popular artists, Kathy creates floral and landscape watercolor paintings and limited edition prints.  Kathy’s “White Peonies” won the prestigious “Best of Show” award at the Minnesota Watercolor Society’s 2013 Juried Spring Show.  Kathy’s “Tomatoes” is the featured art on Riverwalk Market Fair’s 2014 poster.  A former teacher, and always and passionate artist, Kathy fell in love with watercolor as she neared retirement.  A watercolor workshop in Giverny, France, site of Claude Monet’s garden, provided Kathy with greater insight, visual perception, and emotional sensitivity in her work.  Kathy says, “Being there were Claude Monet painted and experiencing the light as he did has had a profound effect on me.  I am certain it will forever alter how I see and paint the world around me.”

Also at Riverwalk on Saturday will be Twin Cities Americana Music duo Bobby and Christine.  Youth activity on sediment and water quality is by the Cannon River Watershed Partnership.

Riverwalk Market Fair, an open-air artists and farmers market, is open 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, June thorugh October in downtown Northfield's Bridge Square.
