Public Help Sought For City Website Design

The City Council invites members of the public to see and comment on the new website which will be launched later this month. On January 14, 15 and 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. there will be computers available in the second floor training room at City Hall for this purpose.

Funded with cable fund money, the city contracted with Kansas-based CivicPlus to develop, roll out, support and host the new website for the next four years. Presently, city employees are training to maintain the site.  The redesign was informed by a committee of 30 individuals, including city staff and members of the public.  As part of the inclusive process, the committee sought and selected photos submitted by citizens for banners and galleries.

The goal of the new website is to be interactive and user friendly not only for city staff, but for the public for such purposes as providing input on city decisions and for maintaining individual accounts for paying bills.
