Disaster Cleanup

September 21, 2018

Dear members of the Northfield Community, the City has received significant damage from storms last night.  The Southeast part of the City has received the most damage.  The Public Works department has begun cleanup.  The City will be going through each street to remove City boulevard trees.  With this type of disaster, we encourage private property owners to manage damaged trees on their property.

Public Works will be clearing streets, once cleared the City will not be back until the majority of trees are cleared from all streets.  This effort will be on going and will take a significant amount of time to clear.  The link to the map below will be updated daily, identifying what streets the City has cleared.

The City Compost site hours have been extended from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day until further notice.  Again, we encourage the community that we are stronger when we all work together to cleanup from this disaster.

If there are volunteers that wish to help please, reach out to Northfield Shares at or by phone (507)-403-9755.

The City would like to remind all community members of the following.

·         Do not go near downed power lines.

·         All property owner should notify Xcel Energy if you are still without power 1-800-895-1999
