Northfield CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Walk is a community-wide collaboration to achieve a common goal:  eradicate hunger and poverty and provide sustainable development for the poor; provide disaster relief; and resettle and assist refugees around the world.

Please join us on Sunday, September 25th at 2 p.m. as we start from Emmaus Church, 712 Linden St. and walk together to Bridge Square.  Seventy-five percent of funds raised will support projects around the world sponsored by Church World Service (CWS). The other twenty-five percent goes to eliminate hunger and poverty right here in Northfield. Participants in the collaboration last year included 11 churches, both St. Olaf and Carleton colleges, and many businesses and citizens of Northfield.  Despite the major flooding that occurred in Northfield last fall, over $30,000 was generously given by the people and businesses of Northfield.

The Northfield Community Action Center will be the recipient of 25% of funds raised this year.

Pledge envelopes can be picked up at virtually any church in Northfield.  Financial contributions can also be made by writing a check payable to "CWS/CROP" and mailing it to Betty Chapman at Community Resource Bank, 1605 Heritage Drive, Northfield.
