The fantastic live musical line-up at J. Grundy's Rueb 'N' Stein continues with a special showcase featuring two of Northfield's most popular bands: The Counterfactuals and The Rice County Roosters. Both bands will appear on a double-bill on Saturday, April 21 from 8 p.m. to midnight. This is a 21+ show with no cover charge.

The Counterfactuals, voted "Northfield's Best Band" in 2010, are Carleton professors Daniel Groll, Jason Decker, and Andy Flory, along with St. Olaf prof Mike Fuerstein. Delivering golden pop nuggets with a lively dose of twang, The Counterfactuals were recently featured on "The Local Show" on 89.3 FM The Current's online blog as one of four "local bands that deserve must-hear status." One of the demos from their forthcoming debut album also premiered on-air. The band has been featured numerous times on KYMN's "All-Wheel Drive" (1080 AM) and has a strong following both in Northfield and in the Twin Cities.

The very popular Rice County Roosters, featuring nationally-acclaimed singer/songwriter (and music producer) Michael Morris and his band, archive "the hits" from yesteryear and today, reinventing radio classics with their unique and lovely alt-country stylings.
