The Northfield Arts Guild Theater is excited to announce its upcoming production of I WAS A RAT! by Barbara Field and adapted from the children’s book by Philip Pullman.  This exciting and sweet story for kids tells the story of Little Roger, a rat who is chosen to be one of the coachmen for Cinderella’s carriage.  When Roger is accidently left behind  he is transformed into a little boy.  Trying to navigate the unfamiliar world of humans, Roger has a series of misadventures as he looks to find his place in the world.  The play was first produced at the Seattle Children’s Theater.

I WAS A RAT! is being directed by Mickey Morstad and features the acting talents of  Dominic Gill, Deb Clark, Jim Stenglein, Alexandra Gilbertson, Fred Lundstrom, Sam Hager, Rachel Reiland, Luke Hahn, Nicholas Hosterman, Solomon Noble, Esme Etter, Joseph Reiland and Ben Selchow.  Performing at the Arts Guild Theater at 411 W 3rd St, the play will be presented April 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7:30pm and April 21 and 28 at 2pm.

Following the Sunday, April 21 matinee, anyone interested is invited to be part of our first Weekends Backstage event, which offers patrons a guided tour of Arts Guild Theater and a short Q&A with a few members of the cast and crew.  Weekends Backstage is a new community outreach initiative that will take place following the first Sunday matinee of all productions.
