Hospital offers emergency medical training

Northfield Hospital & Clinics Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is offering training this fall to prepare students for emergency medical responder (EMR) or emergency medical technician (EMT) certification.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 17, the class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings and alternate Saturday afternoons throughout the fall at EMS base headquarters at 1600 Riverview Drive. The classes are designed to maximize your time and energy to position you for certification.

The emergency medical responder program can serve as a stand-alone certification program or as the first half of the emergency medical technician course. Students who successfully complete the EMR class and wish to obtain certification as an EMT will progress to the second section of the training beginning in February of 2014.
