Health assessment may come your way

Local health officials may seek your help in assessing the health of our community.

Rice County Public Health, District One Hospital, Northfield Hospital & Clinics and HealthFinders are collaborating to assess the health of Rice County. 1,200 randomly selected households will receive a health survey in the mail.  Local health and wellness providers will use the information gathered to improve the health of the community. The confidential survey will ask about physical and mental health, lifestyle habits such as nutrition and exercise, smoking, alcohol use, access to health and dental care, and health care insurance coverage. More information is available at www.co.rice.mn.us.

“By completing this survey, you will be helping local health providers better understand how we can work together to improve the health of Rice County residents,” said Deb Purfeerst, RN, Director of Rice County Public Health. “The information we gather from this survey will provide direction for future health initiatives and programs.”

Interpreter services are available for completing the survey.
