The Eclectic Goat Adds More ART & Now BEADS!

The store that is known for its eclectic mix of “hip handmade goods” recently relocated to 413 Division Street in Northfield. Nestled in the shopping district in the historic downtown, the Eclectic Goat is an artists’ emporium of sorts, drawing inspiring works from local talent ranging in mediums of wood to pottery and fabric to metal and more.

Eclectic Goat also recently acquired the business of Glass Garden Beads.

An open house will take place on Thursday, October 25 from 5-7 p.m. as a meet-and-greet in the new space with local artists’ debuts plus refreshments, sweets and a list of class offerings.

Co-owners Suzanne Klumb and Shona Brooks are excited about the new location and saw the time honored Northfield-based bead business as a natural fit, not only as a product line for Eclectic Goat’s expansion but also as an opportunity to incorporate jewelry making into their well-established schedule of monthly, hands-on classes.

The art-centric store features the work of 40 plus artists and offers a gamut of mixed media supplies, along with its many themed parties and DIY kits.

“We’re really about focusing on artists and showcasing their work,” said Brooks. The uniqueness is found in each one-of-a-kind creation. We offer “non-traditional merchandise for the non-traditional buyer,” added Klumb about their locally made products.
