Blue Zones author Dan Buettner to share his secrets for a long and happy life

Who are these Northfielders? I heard over the weekend that Dan Buettner is coming to Northfield for a free presentation next Monday, courtesy of Northfield Shares, our local community foundation. (Event\tickets page here.)

No, Dan is not going to talk about his world record-setting bike expeditions in the 80s & 90s. He's now all about Blue Zones and what communities can do to help their citizens live happier and longer.

I just listened to Dan on a panel at the Aspen Ideas Festival when MPR News aired it last month. Give it a listen and you'll appreciate what a good speaker he is.

So this morning I stopped by the world headquarters of Northfield Shares to get a photo of staffers Mike Kranze and Carrie Carroll with their poster of Dan's presentation so I could blab about the event here on Northfield.org and elsewhere.

Tickets are free but limited since he'll be speaking at the Northfield Middle School Auditorium. I'll be there, scheming to get a photo of me with Dan.

You can help get the word out by sharing the event page or this post to friends, especially your fellow Northfielders.
