Alyssa Herzog Melby to Discuss Creative Placemaking

Alyssa Herzog Melby, Chair of the Northfield Arts and Culture Commission, will speak about “Creative Placemaking: Developing Northfield through Arts and Culture” at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019, in the Bunday Room of the Northfield Public Library. Her talk, sponsored by Pi Chapter (Rice County) of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society for key women educators, is free and open to the public. Desserts will be served. All welcome!  

 

Alyssa Herzog Melby, Chair of the Northfield Arts and Culture Commission, is originally from Montgomery and Lonsdale. She graduated from the Perpich Center for Arts Education in the Twin Cities, then earned her B.A. in English and Theatre Arts at the University of Minnesota-Morris and her M.A. in Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh. After serving as Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, she and her family moved to Northfield, where she spent two and a half years as Executive Director of the Northfield Arts Guild before before accepting a position at St. Olaf College as Assistant Director of Academic Civic Engagement. She and her husband Jacob have three children, Adela, Henrik, and Louisa.
