RuthAnn Breckenridge

RuthAnn Breckenridge, age 72, of Dundas, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Reflections Suites on the Three Links Campus in Northfield after a hard-fought nine-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northfield United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will take place in the Groveland Cemetery in Dundas.

RuthAnn Breckenridge, the daughter of Forrest and Helen (Drentlaw) Turnacliff was born on October 26, 1940 in Northfield.  She graduated from Northfield High School in 1958.  On May 2, 1959, she was united in marriage to Gerald (Butch) Breckenridge.  RuthAnn was a stay at home mom to her 4 children until 1978 when she started an upholstery business with her friend Jean Tostrude.  In 1985, she started work at the Dahl House warehouse and later became floor manager.  RuthAnn began working at St. Olaf food service in 1991 and retired in 2005.  After retirement, RuthAnn volunteered twice a week at the Used-A-Bit Shoppe in Northfield.

One of RuthAnn’s favorite pastimes was riding her Goldwing trike.  She enjoyed many fun trips and made many good friends.  She was a member of the Midwest Motorcycle Riders & Campers and the First Wednesday Coffee Club of Dundas.  She loved traveling and enjoyed many wonderful trips with her three sidekicks, sister Jeanette Gilbertson, sister Donna Rock and brother-in-law Gary.  RuthAnn enjoyed playing cards, sewing and swimming.  She was an active member of the Northfield United Methodist Church.

RuthAnn is survived by her children, Debbie (John) Foley of Dundas, Mike Breckenridge of Dundas, Mark (Kari) Breckenridge of Dundas and Julie (Jim) Scott of Eagan; 10 grandchildren, Erin (Charlie) Donkers, David Foley, Justin and Trevor Breckenridge, Annika and Mia Scott, Sharon (Adam) Kilanowski, Sandra (Matt) Heiman, Bill and John Breckenridge; 4 great-grandchildren, Victoria and Ariel Kilanowski and Quinton and Isabelle Heiman; two sisters, Jeanette Gilbertson  and Donna (Gary) Rock both of Northfield; and her brother, Dale (Rose) Turnacliff of Northfield.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald “Butch” Breckenridge and daughter-in-law, Linda Breckenridge.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield.
