Hazelle Williams




Mrs. Hazelle (Roger) Williams, age 90, formerly of the Little Prairie area, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Northfield Retirement Community. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Little Prairie United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at the Groveland Cemetery in Dundas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4th.from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Hazelle Mae Little Williams was born in rural Bridgewater Township on October 10, 1919 to George and Alice (Fremow) Little. She lived her entire life in Bridgewater Township and graduated from Northfield High School in 1939.

On September 13, 1940, she was united in marriage to Roger “Bill” Williams at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. She and Bill raised four sons. She was a homemaker, a baker, (she kept the cookie jar full for her grandchildren) and a gardener. She preserved huge quantities of food for her family and was a life-long member of the Little Prairie United Methodist Church. For 16 years she was the secretary for the ladies aid group at her church. She enjoyed working at church suppers, dinners and showers.

In her retirement she and Bill enjoyed watching the Dundas Dukes baseball team, the songbirds in their yard and television.

Family and traditions were most important to Hazelle. She loved her family unconditionally and kept traditions that her mother had taught her.

Hazelle is survived by her four sons, Roger Jr. (Cookie) of Dundas, Ronald (Carolyn) of Auburn Hills Michigan, Gary (special friend, Mary Walker) of Dundas, Jim (Pam) of Dundas; 5 grandchildren, Paul (Christa) Williams of Northville, Michigan, Sara (special friend Charles Brenner) Williams of Augusta, Michigan, Mike (Cinnamon) Rahman of Nerstrand, Farrah (Mark) Koktavy of Faribault and Chris Williams of Faribault; 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Rahman, and Faith and Emalyn Koktavy; brothers, Harold (Carol) Little of Dundas, Wayne (Elvy) Little of Northfield, Douglas (Anna Mae) Little of Dundas; sisters, Florence (Neil) Wobschall of Littleton, Colorado, Doris Bickel of Tucson, AZ. and sister-in-law, Shirley Little of Faribault.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Lloyde, Stanley, Robert and Donald; sister, Betty DuChene.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield.
