Donald F. Mills
Donald Mills, age 40 of Northfield, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 from complications of cancer at the Northfield Hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 12th at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield with burial at the Green Hills Cemetery in Palos Verdes, CA. Visitation will be Saturday 1 hour prior to Services at the Bierman Funeral Home.
Donald Mills is survived by wife Shannon of Northfield; children Taylor Mills of Northfield, Christopher and Landon Perry of West Plains, MO; parents Bruce and Sharon Mills of Hawthorne, CA; grandmother Inez Mills of Northfield; mother-in-law Brenda (Mark) Mason of Torrance, CA; father-in-law Ken (Laura) Gillam of Ypsilanti, MI; brothers-in-law Kenneth M. and Scott Gillam; and numerous relatives in the Northfield area and southern California. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Joey Mills.
Donald Fenton Mills was born July 25 , 1970 in Inglewood, CA, son of Bruce and Sharon (Baker) Mills. At age 2 he moved to Hawthorne, CA where he was raised and graduated from high school with training as a machinist. He met Shannon Nicole Gillam in southern California and they were married on May 30, 1998 making their home in California.
Don and his family moved to Northfield, MN in 2005 and he quickly found work as a machinist. First at CNC Machinist in Lakeville from 2005-2009 and then Mendel Machinists in Lakeville and was highly respected in his trade. He was well loved by those who knew him and his strength will be missed. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund in Don’s name.
