Rosemary Mjelde
Rosemary Mjelde, age 84 of Northfield, was called home by Our Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Funeral Services will be 12:00 noon Monday, March 22nd at the Life 21 Church; 2100 Jefferson Road; Northfield with burial at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the Church beginning at 10:30 am and continuing until the time of Services.
Rosemary Isabelle Mjelde was born September 11, 1925 in St Louis, MO, daughter of Irwin and Isabelle (Lemp) Bender. She was raised and attended school in St Louis and at a young age began to bowl. She was very good at her sport and as a young woman became a professional bowler. She later began to work for Brunswick and managed a number of their bowling alleys including ones in St Louis and Sacramento, CA.
On June 27, 1967, she was united in marriage to Ramon Mjelde and together they owned a number of businesses and antique stores first in California and in 1980 moved to Dundas, MN where they continued with Heirloom Brass and began a new manufacturing venture called Heirloom Furniture. Here they produced and shipped brass lighting fixtures and quality wooden furniture.
The saying “everybody loves Rosie” was so true. She had a special aura about her that people were drawn to. Her warm smile, heart of gold, compassionate nature, positive attitude and lighthearted sense of humor were a few of her many gifts in making everyone feel special and loved. Rosie’s circle of countless loving friends were like family to her.
Rosemary’s faith in God was her guiding light. She was a strong woman, very involved in her church, especially when it came to working with children and teenagers. She lived a very active life centered on helping people and was passionate about her family, cooking, children, dogs, playing cards, antiques, and her flower gardens. She also loved to travel and see the world. The world lost a remarkable woman while heaven gained a truly special “angel”
Rosemary will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 44 years Ramon; devoted son Rob Mossinghoff and his wife Karen Zeilinger of Burnsville; sister-in-law Sharon Ellsworth of Dundas; brother-in-law Tom Mjelde and wife Kathy of Malmo, MN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Irwin and Kenneth Bender.
