Outdoor Pool closed - Kiddie Pool to open
After monitoring the water levels since the last repairs were made, the pool continues to leak over 30,000 gallons per day. For a pool the size of the Northfield pool, the maximum water loss permitted by health and safety standards is no more than 6,000 gallons per day.
At this point in the season and the life of the pool, built in 1958, there are really no other options to consider except to get moving on developing a plan for a new pool facility.
"The Kiddie pool will open Wednesday (June 22nd) at no charge to users. The city is absorbing the cost for the personnel time. The new Middle School will have some open swim hours. We are also exploring other community options," said Susan Hoyt, Northfield City Administrator.
