Marylou Zimmerman

 Marylou Zimmerman, age 75 of Northfield, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield with burial at the Northfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Bierman Funeral Home and on Wednesday 1 hour prior to services.

Marylou Ann Zimmerman was born January 31, 1934 at the family home near Nerstrand, MN, daughter of Dewey and Mercedes (Wintz) Wolf. She was raised on farms in the Nerstrand area and attended country school. She was baptized and confirmed at the Nerstrand United Methodist Church where she was a long time member. On August 18, 1952 she was united in marriage to Delmar Arthur Zimmerman of the Dennison, MN area.

They made their home on the farm where they raised their 5 children. In 1971 Delmar retired from farming and began working in Northfield at St Olaf College. They continued to live on the farm until 1989 when they moved to Northfield. Marylou loved family events and was always pleased to visit with family and friends. She enjoyed reading, movies, jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, and being outdoors.

Marylou is survived by daughters Ruthann Stewart of Faribault, Darlene (Dean) Calvert of Faribault, Kaye (Krim) Heise of Faribault; sons Edward Zimmerman and fiancée Donna Fuerstenberg of Morristown, Steve (Marcy) Zimmerman of Northfield; sisters Louise Patten of Winnebago, Naomi (Ray) Sprute of Northfield; sister-in-law Doris Ellingboe of Northfield; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delmar; granddaughter Carrie Duban; sister Betty Rothenburger; and brother Dewey Wolf.
