Bruce Allen Rezac was born May 25, 1963, in Northfield to Eugene and Donna (Moravec) Rezac.  He was baptized at the Church of St. Dominic and in 1965 moved with his family to Randolph.  In 1978, he moved with his family to Deerwood and was confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1981 and joined the US Army.  Following his discharge in 1984, he returned to the Northfield area and worked for Perma Groove in Lakeville.  In the late 1990's he began working as a plumber for D&P Mechanical in Lakeville.  In November 2004 Bruce was diagnosed with leukemia, but had been in remission for the past 2 years.

Bruce was a member of the Church of St. Dominic.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, and spending time with his dogs - Bobo & Henry.  He also enjoyed his dart league at the L&M and going to the casino with his mother to play bingo.  Bruce was kind-hearted, always helpful, and greatly loved his family.   

Survivors include his mother, Donna Rezac of Dundas; his sister, Ann Rezac of Faribault; 5 brothers and their wives: David of Northfield, Joseph and Renee of Northfield, Donald and Lynette of Dundas, Bob and Theresa of Lakeville, Charles and Tammy of Northfield;  nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Eugene in 1990 & and his brother Paul in 2004.

Bruce passed away on Saturday morning, July 26, 2008, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, the result of an accidental explosion at his home in Deerwood.  He was 45.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with Fr. Dennis Dempsey officiating.  Music will be provided by Marlys Mouser.  Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield.  Casket bearers will be Travis Rezac, Aaron Rezac, Jeremy Rezac, Josh Rezac, Tony Rezac, Jacob Rezac, Bob Sura, and Jay Wunderlich.  Honorary casket bearers will be Tammy Murphy, Jessica Rezac, Emma Rezac, Elizabeth Rezac and Annabelle Rezac.  Visitation will be 4-8PM Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral.
