Thursday, ArtOnWater has something new in store for the art lovers in the area! ArtOnWater, in collaboration with ArtOrg, is hosting three big art shows during one week-long event to include the "2008 Rochester Art in the Sky" competition, "The Twenty Views of Dundas," and "The 1000 Print Summer." This show lasts for only seven days so be sure to drop in for today's sneak preview from 3 to 8 p.m. to get the first peek. More art is coming your way with Grezzo Gallery's opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Grezzo opens its fresh craft boutique for the merry month of May featuring 15 local artists! Northfielders love a great historic tale ... at 6:30 p.m., hear about Ytterboe the dog and view the documentary produced by two St. Olaf students about the events surrounding the 1957 shooting of the beloved mascot at St. Olaf's Viking Theater. Leif Enger – author of "So Brave, Young and Handsome" – will discuss and sign copies of his latest release at Carleton's Skinner Memorial Chapel. For live musical entertainment, catch the Bluegrass and Old-time Jam Session beginning at 7:30 p.m. at The Contented Cow and the Todd Thompson Trio at The Tavern Lounge.

Friday, Take part in the first-ever Community Garage Sale sponsored by 5th Bridge ... Find more details and a list of garage sale sites at www.5thbridge.org. Garage sale participants have committed to donating at least 50 percent of proceeds to a good and worthy cause of their choice. Carleton's convocation at 10:50 a.m. features Dr. Vijay Prashad who will present, "Watada's Election: Asian Americans and These Asian Wars" at Skinner Memorial Chapel. Today marks the first day of the Northfield High School play, "Holiday." At 7:30 p.m., NHS students will perform this rarely produced and beautifully written piece at the Northfield High School Auditorium. Don't miss it! After the play, be sure to catch Fish Frye at The Contented Cow and Jon Manners at The Tavern Lounge! Make a whole day of it and catch all these great events!
