Carleton College's Goodsell Observatory will hold an open house Friday, May 2, from 9:30-11:30 PM if it is clear. View stars, nebulas, and planets through the telescopes. Dress warmly!

Open houses are held the first Friday of each month except July 4, with the schedule posted on at http://go.carleton.edu/83. The open house will be cancelled if it is cloudy.

CIndy Blaha and Joel Weisberg are Professors of Physics and Astronomy at Carleton College.

VISIT TO YOUR OBSERVATORY

MY NAME IS BOB GUNNERSON. I'M FROM LOVELAND COLORADO AND I WILL BE IN YOUR AREA ON APRIL 29TH AND 30TH, 2008. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET A TOUR OF YOUR OBSERVATORY?

I THINK THAT CHAMBERLIN OBSERVATORY IN DENVER WAS BUILD WITH YOURS AS AN EXAMPLE. I'VE SPENT LOTS OF TIME AT CHAMBERLIN WITH THE DAS (DENVER ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY).

I HAVE SEVERAL INSTRUMENTS OF MY OWN INCLUDING A 6" REFRACTOR AND A C-14.

LET ME KNOW, THANK YOU, BOB GUNNERSON

Can you tell us a bit about

Can you tell us a bit about what you might be looking at on Friday? I've never studied astronomy and find it helpful to do a bit of reading before heading over.

Thanks
