Ruth M Jacobson Obituary

Northfield, passed away Friday, February 8,
2008 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Funeral Services will be
2:00 PM, Sunday, February 10 at Little Prairie United Methodist Church,
Dundas. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset, IL
at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday 1 hour prior to Services at
Little Prairie UMC.
Ruth Marie Jacobson was born March 7, 1930 in rural Emington, IL,
daughter of Timothy and Agnes (Nelson) Donovan. She grew up near Dwight,
IL where she graduated from high school. On May 4, 1952, she married
Wayne E. Jacobson of Neponset, IL in Dwight. Following their marriage,
they settled in Neponset and had two children. Wayne passed away in
August of 2002, shortly after their 50th wedding anniversary. Ruth moved
to Minnesota to be near her daughter in 2007.
Ruth worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the
Neponset Elementary School. After taking disability leave, she became a
homemaker. Ruth was a member of the Illinois Association of Educational
Office Professionals. She was also a member of the Neponset United
Methodist Church where she was involved for many years in Women’s
Circle. She was very active in local politics and enjoyed campaigning
alongside her husband who was Bureau County, IL Clerk of Circuit Court
for nearly 40 years.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Jolene Barjasteh and her fiancé Edmund
Santurri, granddaughter Ana Barjasteh and grandson Bobby Barjasteh, all
of Northfield; two brothers, Ned Donovan and James (Betty) Donovan of
Dwight, IL; two sisters, Ruby Christenson of Paris, TN and Joanna
(Eugene) Bissey of Bloomington, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, son Wayne Jr., brothers
Timothy, Ernest, and Patrick Donovan, and sisters Margaret Donovan, Mary
Conness, and Frances Sullivan.
