Co-signers of the Minnesota Health Care Act will discuss the legislation at a Town Hall Meeting Saturday, Febrary 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Northfield Public Library Meeting Room. Rep. David Bly will host the discussion. Senator John Marty, an author of the proposal said, "Our legislative proposals are designed to put us on a path toward guaranteed health care that can't be taken away."

The Northfield event is the culmination of a three-day tour legislators are making to Duluth, Hibbing, Brainerd, Mankato and Winona. The public is urged to attend. For more information contact Jane McWilliams, 507/645-8423.

health care town hall

Thanks to this website, I can keep in touch with the news while I'm down here in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I'll be looking for an in depth factual report on the Health Care Town Hall meeting on the 9th. I wonder why the meeting is set for 2 pm however; seems like lots of working people would want to attend. (Comes from a "cold induced asthma" reader taking refuge in Mission, Tx.) By the way, I had crowns down in Mexico for $195 each; on a fixed income cannot afford to have my teeth done in Northfield. Since oral health is so important to overall health, sure hope we can figure out how to cover this aspect of healthcare as well. I can't say my experience here was great, but after three trips I think the new crowns (3 of them) will work. If not, I'll be back in MN this spring looking for a dentist to make some adjustments (hopefully they would be minor and satisfactory).
