First National to Celebrate Grand Opening of its Third Facility
It’s not quite as predictable as Halley’s Comet streaking across the sky, but for the third time in its 135-year history, First National Bank of Northfield is opening a new bank to serve Northfield. The newest full-service bank, located at 1611 Honey Locust Drive, in the south Highway 3 business district, is now open for business. First National – South offers convenient lobby hours, a full range of business and personal banking services, four drive-through lanes and a 24-hour, drive-up ATM.
To celebrate this milestone in the bank’s growth and service to the greater Northfield community, First National will host a Grand Opening celebration Saturday, February 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop by for refreshments, tours of the new bank, a scavenger hunt for kids of all ages, photos with the James Gang, a Jesse James bobblehead giveaway to the first 300 families and a grand prize drawing for a 37” high-definition television.
First National Bank of Northfield CEO Dave Shumway said, “We’re capping off a big year for First National. We’ve added to our leadership team, introduced new products and services for our customers, and refreshed our image. This new building is a great symbol of our commitment to this community. We’re proud to have served Northfield for the past 135 years, and we’re ready for the next 135.”
Founded in 1872, First National Bank of Northfield has provided financial services and products to individuals and businesses in the greater Northfield area since the town’s beginnings. With its third location in the newest part of Northfield, south Highway 3, the company aims to better serve the fastest-growing areas of Northfield and Dundas, while maintaining a strong presence in the downtown area.
The new First National – South, which quietly opened for business in mid-December, is an 8,500-square-foot building with a design that combines the traditional and historic feel of a brick exterior with a contemporary and inviting interior design and layout. The bank’s lobby is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The drive-through lanes are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
