Thursday, ArtSwirl events and entertainment continue this weekend. To start the weekend off, enjoy a noontime organ recital at the United Methodist Church beginning at 12:15 p.m. Cathy Rodland performs at Boe Chapel on the college's new Holtkamp instrument as part of this ongoing lunch-hour series. The Northfield Arts Guild Theater presents "Burial at Thebes" beginning at 7 p.m. at the Central Park Stage — this play is performed at the outdoor stage! It's the second concert of the Bridge Chamber Music Festival at St. Olaf's Urness Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Sarah Kwak, Anthony Ross and Susan Billemeyer perform piano trios by Beethoven, Smetana and Mendelssohn. Tickets are available at the Northfield Arts Guild and at the event. At 7:30 p.m. at the Northfield Arts Guild, Northfield resident, Athena Currier, presents a screening of her latest productions including a short film titled "Spaghetti Served Cold" — her take on the classic spaghetti western. Ian Alexy plays the Tavern Lounge — check out his heart-warming songs about his journeys through life.

Friday, Tiny's Dogs All Day is hosting open-mic night at 7 p.m. for all who wish to share their work. Northfield author Olivia Frey will kick off the event with chapter one of "Dead End: A Small Town Minnesota Mystery." Sprucetop Review will perform their eclectic repertoire of urban folk at The Contented Cow and the group Relativity will play current and classic light rock at The Tavern Lounge — they'll perform great original music as well. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Saturday, Be sure to head downtown to take part in the ArtSwirl Studio Tours and Artists' Market from 12 to 5 p.m.. This is the first day of two where you can take in the arts offered by local artists and artisans. Grezzo Gallery is holding an artist opening and reception from 7 to 10 p.m. for artist and gallery co-owner, Stephen Delwiche. Charlie Parr will perform his original acoustic blues at Hogan Brothers beginning at 8 p.m., Kilometer Davis will be at The Contented Cow and you'll find Jeff Ray at The Tavern Lounge. Be sure to support these artists by heading out and taking in their performances! Have a great weekend in our favorite town, Northfield!
