J. Grundy's Rueb 'N' Stein kicks off the month of May with a weekend of fantastic live music, Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5. First up (and back by popular demand, everyone's favorite Kinks tribute band, Kinda Kinky!, returns to Northfield for a not-to-be-missed evening of classic rock & roll on Friday, May 4 from 9 p.m. to midnight. Playing all the hits such as "Lola," "You Really Got Me," and "Come Dancing" as well as other lesser-known gems from The Kinks' timeless catalog, this very popular Twin Cities band features well-known rockers Dave Randall (Vocals, Guitar), Keith Patterson (Guitar, Vocals), Lynn Zecca (Bass, Vocals) and Steve Kent (Drums, Vocals). The very next night, on Saturday, May 5, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Rueb presents The 8th Street Duo featuring Northfield natives and local favorites Chad Johnson and Russell Franek, known for their spot-on harmonies and diverse acoustic style. Their music is at the crossroads between Rock and Country, with a touch of modern folk -- influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bob Seger, CCR, Rolling Stones, Lynrd Skynrd, Zac Brown, and Tom Petty.
