Cannon River Watershed Partnership Hosts Task Force
The Cannon River Watershed Project has assembled a task force of local talent to address three components of polution: mercury, phosphorous and fecol coliform bacteria.
The Task Force

From the Wiki that NCO set up for this task force ... the charter
The goal of this project is to reduce quantities of phosphorus, fecal coliform bacteria, and mercury in the Cannon River and in its watershed. The task force has been formed to determine how best to proceed.
[emphasis added]
The group is made up of representatives of various key sub-populations who are important players in the watershed.. From the charter site:
Participants were invited to this task force to represent broad interests and experience s related to land management.
Thus far we have reviewed, by way of guest presenters, the big-picture components of mercury and of non-point emission runoff. Hilary Ziols (lurking in the back, center) has organized this task force, and is making excellent use of a practice Wiki set up by InformedConsentOfThePeople. The project itself is funded by the Minnesota Environmental Partnership
I look forward to the final report, to implementing some of the recommendations and seeing how the results play out here in our neighborhood..

Thanks to Bruce Morlan and NCO for this posting. It is exciting to explore all the various modes of communicating about the next best steps that individuals, businesses, and local governments can take to meet water quality standards in the Cannon River watershed!
