Glass exhibit to open at city hall Monday

city hall art"Art at City Hall 2009," a public art exhibit of seven art glass panels commissioned by Northfield resident and business owner Norman Butler, will open in Northfield City Hall Monday, July 6, 5:30-7 p.m. The display was designed and hung by Dean Kjerland of the ArtOnWater gallery.

The Art at City Hall 2009 project chair is Dixon Bond. Special thanks go to Mayor Mary Rossing and to Northfield City Administrator Joel Walinski for project support, site recommendation, and assistance with the installation.

This temporary exhibit is in the southeast entrance stairwell at city hall, and is viewable at any time from the parking lot or inside during regular business (or evening meeting) hours. What a wonderful idea - I hope lots of people will show up for the opening. I think that location is good, too, because don't public going to the county offices use that stairway?
