Valley Grove Country Social
Enjoy live music, wagon rides, a silent auction, and more as you step back into the 19th century at the annual Valley Grove Country Social from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 19 at Valley Grove Church, located between Northfield and Nerstrand.
Entertainment at the social includes Hütenänny, a Northfield-based group that plays old-time dance music from the Nordic countries, and music on the historic original organ by Theo Wee, Richard Collman and Rhonda Reese. Activities also include farm animals, horse-drawn wagon rides, a silent auction including benches made from recycled floorboards of the church, old-time family activities, and prairie walks on the scenic land surrounding the church.
No event admission is charged, but donations are welcome and will go to the continuing costs of restoration of the site.
