Northfield.org presents Winternet 2010
Northfield Citizens Online (NCO) invites you to escape the cold at the Contented Cow in downtown Northfield Thursday, Jan. 21, 7-9 p.m.
The event will be an opportunity to socialize with the readers, contributors, and board members of Northfield.org in a warm, lighthearted environment. The gathering will feature light refreshments, plus online demonstrations by board members to help people with any questions they might have about what has grown to become one of the most dynamic community websites in the country.
At 7:30 p.m. Jessica Peterson White (the "Quiz Mistress") will present a 3-round mini-quiz themed to the event. Bring your friends and form a team of up to four people for the quiz. The winning team will receive a hearty handshake and the warm glow of victory (plus a top-secret prize). Although the event will end at 9 p.m., guests will be welcome to linger at the Cow to enjoy the band Study Hall.

Wish I could come, but Dundas Planning Commission (where I am Vice Chair) meets at same time. When we founded Northfield Citizens Online, we never dreamed where it would end up - we expected our mission to evolve - but we knew from the start that a good cadre of volunteers was essential, and we learned pretty quickly that volunteers are like owners, they are there because they are invested in the organization and they take ownership in a way that paid staff cannot ... three cheers for NCO!
