Lost in Woonsocket documentary screening
All are invited to this free community showing!
To celebrate National Recovery Month, the Rice County Chemical Health Coalition’s Provider Team is sponsoring a free public showing of the powerful documentary "Lost in Woonsocket" on Friday, September 17, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. The film will be shown at the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault (321 Central Avenue). Refreshments will be served.
Lost in Woonsocket documents the story of two individuals struggling with addiction. The two are estranged from their families, living in rural Rhode Island. After being discovered by a film crew of random philanthropists, the two men are given a chance at recovery, a chance at reconnection, and a second chance at life. The resulting 90-minute film conveys the details of addiction to alcohol and the associated losses. It also shares an honest and realistic picture of the recovery process, both the ups and the downs. The film provides a testament to our power as individuals to make a difference in the lives of one another.
