Local food potluck to coincide with Eat Local Challenge
Come join your neighbors and friends to share ideas, food, and fun. We’ll meet at the Just Food Community Room to talk about local food plans and local foodshed planning while enjoying winter dishes available that meet the Eat Local Challenge guidelines. (50% within our 5-state region.) Please bring your own plates and silver too.
Suggested table discussions include: cooking local foods recipe exchange, Michelle Obama’s schoolyard garden proposal, community garden/orchard, edible landscaping. BRING YOUR OWN IDEAS!
At 7 pm, MPIRG students from Carleton will present up-to-date information on their Rice County Local Foods Campaign. They are working to persuade our Board of Commissioners to enact policies that will encourage the growth of a sustainable food system in our region.
