Lockwood Theater Company presents an all-new production of Northfield's treasured musical retelling of the Jesse James story -- presented this year at The Grand Event Center, a 19th-century theater building in downtown Northfield. Performances run September 2-11, 2010.

A high-spirited good time for audience and cast alike, this exuberant and engaging family-friendly musical is filled with great songs and dialogue that trace Jesse's life with his beloved wife, Zee, including the famed Northfield Bank Raid. Performed in the style of turn-of-the-century music hall melodramas, the audience is strongly encouraged to loudly cheer the heroes and hiss at the villains as the story unfolds through comedy and, of course, tragedy.

The show was written by Minnesota theater legends Bob and Maggie Moulton. The clever and engaging lyrics were written by Vern Sutton, well-known as a writer/performer on Prairie Home Companion. The melody lines for the songs are by William Huckaby and the orchestration of the entire show was fully realized by St. Olaf College music instructor, Donna Paulsen.

General admission tickets are $15/adults and $10/children under 12. Reserved box seats are sold in groups of 6 ($120) or 8 ($160). Tickets can be purchased online, by calling +1-800-838-3006 (24/7) or at the Anna's Closet store in downtown Northfield. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour before the performance.
