Grief and Loss Presentation

Edward Holland, chaplain and bereavement coordinator of Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice, will be the featured speaker at a bereavement informational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 12, 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Northfield Hospital Conference Center.
Holland’s talk, “Beyond Kubler-Ross: New Perspectives on Death, Dying and Grief,” will serve as a prelude to an optional six-week bereavement support group offered by Northfield Hospice. Both events are free and open to the public.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
Holland is a United Methodist minister, a board certified chaplain (BCC APC), a certified Gestalt therapist and a licensed marriage family therapist (LMFT). He currently serves as the Coordinator of Spiritual Care and Grief Support at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice in St. Louis Park. He will discuss challenges to the current understanding of grief as well the effects of cultural diversity on grief theory and practice. One CEU will be available for the session. People can register that evening for their credit.
The six-week bereavement group will be facilitated by Catherine Kelley, MSW, a Northfield Hospice social worker. It will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Meeting Room A at the hospital and then will meet every Wednesday through October 24.
