City Council Candidate Forum
Candidates running in the August 14 primary for Northfield City Council will speak at a Candidate Forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters. The event will be held at the Northfield City Hall Council Chambers on Thursday, July 26, at 6:00 PM.
In this primary only two positions are contested: the Ward 2 seat and the At-Large seat. The candidates for those two seats will have the opportunity to answer questions from the audience and to make a brief statement. This forum continues a long League tradition of voter education forums designed to help voters make informed decisions.
Invited candidates:
- Council Member at Large: Betsey Buckheit, Joe Gasior, David L. Ludescher
- Council Member Ward 2: Frank Balster, David Delong, Paul Reiland, Wade Schulz
The event is free and open to the public.
The Northfield/Cannon Falls League of Women Voters is part of the national League of Women Voters. The League is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving government through knowledgeable voter participation. In addition to holding voter education events like this forum, the League also studies and then takes positions on public policy issues.
