Cemetery Stories Saturday Evening
On October 23 the Calvary Cemetery will be the site of the 2010 Cemetery Stories! The tours are scheduled to start at 5:30, 6:00, 6:15, 6:45, 7:00, 7:15, 7:30. Each tour will last about an hour and will highlight some of Northfield’s most interesting people. Some of the highlights are hearing about how Joseph Frantz won his Medal of Honor during the Civil War, listening to stories of Henry “Tel” Budd who was a barber in Northfield from 1870-1940 and hearing stories from Dora Kump, a seamstress for the St. Olaf Choir! Those are just a few of the great stories that will be told that night.
The tour admission charge is $4.00 a person, $1.00 for kids 5-13, and $10 for a family of 4. All the money raised that night helps fund the ongoing operation of the Northfield Historical Society. You need to make a reservation so please call NHS at 507-645-9268 to make sure you have a spot. Please show up 10 minutes before your tour starts.
This is a family friendly event and there will be cookies and hot cider available.
